This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and your rights. We keep it short and only collect what we need to help you.
Who we are
Paul Granelli Jewellers, 4 Bramhall Lane South, Bramhall, Stockport SK7 1AF. We are the controller of your personal information. You can contact us about this policy or your information at paul@paulgranelli.co.uk or on 0161 925 6070.
What we collect
When you send us a form
Your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number; your message; and anything else you choose to tell us on the form, such as the piece you're interested in, your budget, your preferred appointment day, or details of a watch you'd like to sell.
With your message we also record how your visit started: the first page you visited on our site, the website you came from, and any campaign tags in the link you followed. This helps us understand which of our pages and adverts are useful.
To keep the forms free of spam
We keep a scrambled, one-way version of your internet address (an IP address "hash") with your message, so we can limit how many messages can be sent from one place in a short time. It can't be turned back into your address. Our forms may also use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser for signs of automated abuse.
When you call, email or visit
We keep the emails you send us and notes of what we've agreed, so we can look after your order or enquiry.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To reply to you and arrange appointments, quotes and orders. This is necessary to take the steps you've asked for before entering into a contract, and to carry out that contract.
- To keep a record of enquiries and to protect our forms from spam and abuse. This is in our legitimate interests in running the business securely.
We don't use your information for marketing unless you ask us to, we never sell it, and we don't use it to make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run the website and our email. They act only on our instructions:
- Cloudflare: hosts this website, stores form messages securely, and provides the spam check.
- Resend: delivers the emails our website sends.
- Google Workspace: our business email.
Some of these services may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards approved under UK data protection law. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Messages sent through the website are deleted automatically after 24 months. If you buy from us, we keep the records we need for tax and accounting for six years, as the law requires.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it, or to delete it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- ask for it in a format you can take elsewhere.
It's free to make a request, and we'll reply within one month. Email paul@paulgranelli.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
